Mercer Completes First Two Rounds at Wofford Invite

Tyler Copp (-1) is tied for 11th heading into the final round

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Mercer men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Wofford Invitational from the Country Club of Spartanburg on Monday.

The Bears were led by senior Tyler Copp who is tied for 11th after finishing the first two rounds at 1-under par. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native carded a 3-under par 69 in the second round. It was his 10th round under par this season and the fourth in the 60's.

COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"We did not execute the shots that we needed to be successful today. Too many times we were in the wrong position, and, on this course, you can't do that. Our par 5 play was not good as well, which out here you have to birdie the par 5's.

"I'm proud of Tyler's efforts in the second round. It was a good bounce back round."

Up Next
Mercer closes out the regular season with its final round at the Wofford Invitational on Tuesday. The Bears will start the third round from the 10th tee box from 8:54-9:30 a.m.
