Women’s Lacrosse Honored by IWLCA

The Bears were honored as a team and had nine student-athletes receive honor roll recognition.
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Mercer women's lacrosse team was one of 319 program across all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA to receive recognition as Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad.
To qualify for the Academic Honor Squad award, teams must post a 3.2 or higher grade-point average for the 2020-21 season.
In addition to receiving recognition as a team, nine Bears were among 862 student-athletes to be placed on the IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll. Graduate students Lily Morin, Jocelyn Pena and Eva Thorn received recognition, as a a trio of seniors – Samantha Brown, Caroline Kerr and Natalie Sannes. Three juniors also represented Mercer on the honor roll as Haley Gerold, Hannah Lind and Emma Pizzo each claimed a spot on the list.
The nine individuals not only led Mercer in the classroom, but they helped the Bears claim the 2021 Southern Conference Tournament crown, which was the Bears' third championship in as many seasons.
