Bears fall to both Northeastern and Northern Colorado
DENVER, Colo.  – The Mercer Bears fell to both Northeastern (1-3) and Northern Colorado (0-3) in today's double header.
MERCER VS. NORTHEASTERN

Set One (25-21)Â | The Bears took a quick 6-2 lead with kills from Annie Karle, Brittany Major, and Taylor Lynch (2). Along with errors, Karle would score three of Mercer's next eight points, keeping their lead, 15-11. Kills from Lynch, Agnieska Paskevic, and Rayanne de Oliveira would allow Mercer to stay ahead, 21-15. Karle continued to lead offensively and closed the set with two additional kills followed by two errors from Northeastern, completing the set.
Set Two (25-18)Â | Karle started the second set with a kill. Rayanne De Oliveira would have two back-to-back kills, tying the game at 6. Major would score the next two Mercer points, making the deficit six, 17-11. Kills from de Oliveira, Paskevic, and Lynch kept the Bears within four. This would not be enough and the Huskies would take the second set.
Set Three (25-23)Â | The Bears started slow in the third set, trailing by three before a kill from Lynch. Three kills from Major would help tie the game at nine. De Oliveira's two kills followed by one from Major gave Mercer their first lead of the game at 13-11. The teams traded errors to tie the game again at 14. A kill by Paskevic and Karle would put the Bears back on top by two, 16-14. The game would have five more tie scores before four errors from the Bears put the Huskies up by three. Additional errors and a kill from Lynch kept the Bears within one but an error would give the Huskies the set point.
Set Four (25-21) | Major recorded two of Mercer's first five points, giving them a lead of one, 5-4. The teams would trade points before several errors from the Huskies gave the Bears a five-point lead. A kill from Major would end the 7-0 run for the Huskies, giving the lead back to the Bears. The Huskies would go on another run of 5-0 before de Oliveira and Karle answered with back-to-back kills. The Huskies responded and would take the match.

Set One (25-20)Â | Following a few errors from both sides, a kill from Brittany Major tied the game early. Northern Colorado would take the lead before back-to-back kills from Taylor Lynch tied the game again at six. Mercer went on a 6-0 run, taking a lead of 2, 14-12. Northeastern responded, tying the game again at 14. Two separate runs from Northern Colorado put them up by 4, 19-15. The teams battled back and forth before the last 3-0 run from Northern Colorado allowed them to close the match.

Set Two (25-11)Â |Â A kill from Annie Karle would put Mercer on the board after trailing by seven. Efforts from Lynch, Rayanne de Oliveira, and Mykole Morgan would keep Mercer's deficit to 10, 17-7. Mercer's next two points would be from Paige Wagers with a kill and a block, assisted by Major, making the score 20-9. A few errors from Northern Colorado would put the score at 23-11 before Northern Colorado's last run of two points ended the set.

Another kill from Major would put Mercer up by one before two 4-0 runs from Northern Colorado would allow them to take a five-point lead of 11-6.
