Mercer improves to 4-2 on the season

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team completed the perfect weekend with a pair of sweeps over ABAC and Emmanuel. With today's wins, Mercer improves to 4-2 on the season.

The Bears swept both singles and doubles play against ABAC and Emmanuel.

Mary Courville went 2-0 in #1 singles, earning a 6-1, 6-2 win over Chen of ABAC and a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Guerrero of Emmanuel.

Naya Tillitt clinched two wins on the day at #2 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Dufour of ABAC and a 6-2, 6-1 win over Gonzales of Emmanuel.

Lauren Rich went 1-0 on the day with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-2 win over Barrios of ABAC.

Francesca Franchi went undefeated on the day, picking up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Black of ABAC and a 6-0, 6-1 win over Chistor of Emmanuel.

Lekha Varudandi defeated both Beukes of ABAC (6-2, 6-1) and Gosh of Emmanuel (6-0, 6-1).

Kristin Yordanova earned a pair of wins by defeating Jerry of ABAC (6-0, 6-3) and Donecker of Emmanuel (6-2, 6-1).

Ashley Popham went 1-0 on the day with a win over Rogel of Emmanuel by a score of 6-1, 6-0.

The doubles team of Mary Courville / Naya Tillitt, Lauren Rich / Francesca Franchi and Lekha Varudandi / Kristin Yordanova all went 2-0 in doubles play.

The Bears will be back in action on Friday, February 11 against Georgia State at home at 3 P.M.
