Mercer will host the three day event in Eatonton, Georgia.

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's golf team will co-host for the first time in 2022 on Sunday morning for the Linger Longer Invitational. The event will take place in Eatonton, Ga. at Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.

The three-day, 54-hole event will be played Sunday through Tuesday and is hosted on the par 72, 7,436-yard Great Waters Golf Course in Eatonton, Ga. The Mercer Bears will tee off on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. ET alongside KSU and UGA. The 15-team field features five teams ranked among the top 25, including No. 4 North Carolina, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 10 Georgia, No. 19 Florida, No. 22 Clemson Live scoring throughout tournament play can be followed on Golfstat.com.

Payne expressed his gratefulness for the event, saying, "I am looking forward to co-host this outing with Kennesaw State at such a beautiful and amazing course. I'm really excited to see how our guys can matchup with some impressive ranked opponents along with a couple of in-state opponents. It's always a different kind of competition when you're battling for in-state accolades and pride. This is another opportunity for us to grow and to take another step toward being the team we know we can be. We need to take the same competitive character we showed throughout this year and see if we can continue to create great habits. It's important to continue to see different guys step up, take ownership of their actions, and play smart.
