Mercer competes in first round of SoCon Tournament
GREENSBORO, Ga. - Mercer wrapped up day one at the SoCon Men's Golf Tournament at Reynolds-Lake Oconee.
As a team, the Bears recorded an even par (288) score to hold a fifth place position with two more days left to compete.
Jonathan Parker and Ethan Werblo carded 71s to lead the Bears after the initial 18 holes at one-under-par. Tobias Jonsson finished at even-par with a 72. Martin Plukka completed the day with a two-over-par 74. Jay Spivey completed Mercer's day with a 77, five-over par.
After two bogeys, Parker completed the second nine by going two-under to finish one-under at the clubhouse.
ETSU is leading at 13-under-par going into the second day of action.
