MACON, Ga. – Mercer Women's Basketball Head Coach Susie Gardner and staff have announced the signing of transfer student-athlete, Summah Evans, to the program ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Evans joins the Bears from North Florida, where she was a dependable role player for the Ospreys. She saw action in 27 contests and made 10 starts, including the season's last eight. In a league win over Lipscomb, she posted season highs in points (18), minutes played (37), free throws made (6) and free throws attempted (6). Against Kennesaw State in 2021, she corralled a career-best 10 boards in a 10-point road win.

Prior to Jacksonville, Evans played at an extremely high level in her native Australia. In 2017, she was tabbed as the Women's Super League MVP in high school and received the Coaches Award from her club team. The Cairns native was a three-time Queensland State Representative and attended the 2019 NBA NCAA Women's Global Camp. During the 2019 U20 Nationals, she averaged 10.8 points, 6.5 boards and shot 38 percent from the floor. Additionally, she led her prep squad to a state runner-up.

What Coach Gardner thinks about Summah
"We are so excited to add Summah to our program. With Shannon Titus graduating, we knew it was important to add a guard with length to our roster and at 6'0" she fills that role. Summah is a dynamic player that can shoot the three and get to the rim. She will excel academically here as well as her degree objectives line up perfectly with her goals and her major. This is a great addition."
