Baseball to Host First Fall Game of the Season

MACON – Mercer baseball will host the first fall game of the season against USC Upstate on October 15 at 2 p.m. at OrthoGeorgia Park. The game will also serve as their Scout Day.
Admission to the game is free and open to all to attend. The game will be the first of two fall exhibition games, with the second on October 20 at Florida State.Â
Upstate posted a 38-22 record in 2023, including a 25-10 win over Southern Conference member Citadel and a 9-8 win over Western Carolina. The Spartans later lost to WCU 1-13. The 2023 Upstate team made the program's first Big South Championship Game appearance. Their 38 wins was the most in program history. Mercer has not faced Upstate since 2014, a game they won 11-5. Since 2009, Mercer leads the series 18-3.
In 2023, Florida State had a 23-31 record, including a 4-3 win over the then-top-ranked Wake Forest team. The Seminoles also hosted Mercer for three games in May, winning all three.Â
