MACON – After a two-game, two-sweep road trip to the Carolinas, the Bears return to Macon to host Western Carolina and The Citadel on October 26 and 27. Mercer is 8-2 in conference play and has won the past six matches.
On October 20 and 21, Mercer defeated both UNCG and Wofford 3-0 on the road. Going into the week, Mercer and Wofford were tied for second in the Southern Conference, and now Mercer has secured the spot, behind only The Citadel. Kylee Quigley snagged SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honors after she was a major key in the victories while also recording a career high in kills (21).
Western Carolina has a 6-15 record and is 3-7 in SoCon play, losing their last two matches 1-3 at Furman and ETSU. In the last matchup against the Catamounts on September 30, the Bears won 3-1, dropping the first set then winning the next three straight to take the match. Kylee Quigley set her then-career-high in kills with 20, and Skyler Bumpers led the way in blocks with five. The October 26 game will be a Halloween theme, offering a discount to local Jags Pizzeria & Pub for those who attend in costume.
The Citadel enters the week as one of two undefeated NCAA DI teams in the country alongside No. 1 Nebraska. Mercer's last loss was when they faced The Citadel in Charleston on October 1. The Bears forced the Bulldogs to five sets in one of their tightest matches of the season up to that point, neither team winning a set by more than four points. Mercer came from behind, having lost the first two sets, winning the next two, and fighting to the finish of the third and final set where The Citadel ultimately came out ahead.Â
Live stats during the matches can be found on Mercer's stats page and matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

Following this weekend, the Bears will travel to Greenville to face Furman on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. and to Johnson City to face ETSU on Nov. 4.
