ERIE, COLO. – Senior Tobias Jonsson put the finishing touches on the sixth tournament title of his collegiate career on Tuesday when the Swede carded a 3-under-par 69 to stay stop the 100-man field at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational at the par-72, 7,787-yard Colorado National Golf Club.

Mercer (+3) dropped a spot on the team leaderboard on Tuesday, but still finished ninth among a solid 17-team field. San Francisco (-19) edged out the host Buffaloes (-17) for the team title, while UTEP (-10) and Colorado State concluded the 2-day event in a tie for third.

Jonsson (-9) was solid throughout the event in northern Colorado, tallying below-par scores in all three rounds in holding off Colorado's Justin Biwer by a pair of strokes. He registered a quartet of birdies and just one bogey in Tuesday's final round.

Junior Jacob Uyesato (+2) logged a 2-over-par 74 on Tuesday to finish the event among a tie for 35^th place, while senior Gustav Sjoberg (+5) was among a four-way tie for 52^nd place. Graduate students Jay Spivey (+11) and Jonathan Parker walked away from Colorado with shares of 73^rd and 88^th places, respectively.

The Bears will be back in action again, October 8-10, at the USC Upstate-hosted Carolina Cup. That event will be played at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.
