Men’s Golf Sits 4th After Day One At The Carolina Cup

Day 1 Results

SPARTANBURG, SC. – Tobias Jonsson carded 69 to settle into a share of first place on the individual leaderboard and lead the Mercer men's golf team to a 15^th-place standing after opening-day action at the Carolina Cup.

The Bears posted a combined 298 (+10) in Sundays action at Carolina Country Club in South Carolina, but Winthrop (+4) and North Texas (+4) are leading the pack after day one. Just in front of the Bears in third is USTA (+9).

Jonathan Parker turned in a 3-over-par 75 and sits in a tie for 24^th place after the first round, while Gustav Sjoberg tallied a 76 to claim a share of 32^nd place. Connor Holcroft (78) is tied for 51^st place and Jacob Uyesato (81) is tied for 69^th place at the end of round 1.

The Bears continue the Carolina Cup tomorrow.
