10/7/2023 8:04:00 PM | Volleyball
MACON – Mercer served Furman their second straight 3-0 loss and got their second straight 3-0 win after the Paladins fell to Chattanooga and the Bears beat ETSU on Friday.Â
This exciting match was energized by a great fan base at Hawkins Arena. The Bears posted a .303 hitting percentage over the Paladins' .120 while also outdoing the team in service aces and blocks. Lillian Beardsley led all players in blocks with six total. Set three was the only set that the Bears did not start in the lead and did not take a lead until over halfway through. Near the end of each set, once the Bears got rolling toward a win, the momentum built and Furman could not stop it.
The Bears travel to Birmingham on October 12 to play Samford at 7 p.m.
