Beach Volleyball Welcomes Caiden Johnston as Part of 2024-25 Signing Class

MACON -- Caiden Johnston, a native of Greenville, S.C., has signed with the Mercer Beach Volleyball program. Johnston rounds out the 2024-25 signing class quartet, joining Grace Rathburn, Krista Talocka and Maggie Forsyth.

"I am extremely excited about the 2024 recruiting class. All of the athletes bring the intangibles that get me excited as a coach. Their passion, work ethic and pursuit of excellence not only on the sand, but also in the classroom will make an immediate positive impact on our team and the university," head coach Josh Marsh said.

Competing under head coach Heather Foster at Travelers Rest High School, Johnston was part of a program that saw back-to-back regional championships, receiving the coaches award her junior year and helping post a 31-2 record this past season.

In the sand, Johnston competes with Excell Sports under the direction of Shane LeCroy. Johnston's athleticism extends past the volleyball court, earning region championships in three track events and being named District Runner of the Year.

In the classroom, Johnston is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Future Medical Students Club, and has been recognized as the top academic student in her class on three separate occasions.

Johnston plans on majoring in biology.
