MACON – After the Bears' win streak ended with last week's games versus Western Carolina and The Citadel, the team is back on the road to face two teams in which Mercer defeated each, 3-0 earlier in the season--Furman and ETSU.
Despite dropping the previous two matches, Mercer is still in second place in the Southern Conference standings with four matches remaining. The team's 8-4 conference record sits behind The Citadel who is at 11-1 after losing their first match of the season to Western Carolina.Â
Furman is third in the Southern Conference behind Mercer with a 7-5 conference record. The Paladins come off of a 3-2 loss at home to Wofford on October 28. In the previous matchup at Mercer, the Bears won 3-0, holding the Paladins to only 15 points in set two. Lillian Beardsley was a standout in the box score, posting six blocks.Â
ETSU holds a 5-7 conference record and is 3-3 in Johnson City. After beginning the season 0-13, the Bucs are currently riding a three-game win streak (defeating Western Carolina, Chattanooga, UNCG) heading into their next match against Samford on Nov. 3. When the Bucs came to Macon, the Bears won in three sets, including a dominant set two, never allowing the Bucs to take a lead. Skyler Bumpers put up five blocks, and the team recorded nine service aces.Â
Live stats during the matches can be found on Mercer's stats page.

For the final week of the regular season, the Bears will travel to Chattanooga on Nov. 9 to play UTC at 6 p.m. then host Samford on Nov. 11 for senior night in Macon at 7 p.m.
