SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's game between Mercer and Charlotte is the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. The series is tied 3-3 with Mercer winning the last two meetings. The two teams last met in 2018.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
Charlotte is in its first season competing as members of the American Athletic Conference. The 49ers were previously members of Conference USA.

Last season, Charlotte finished with a 12-19 overall record and went 7-13 in conference play. The 49ers were picked to finish 10th out of 14 teams in the AAC.

Charlotte has yet to lose at home this season as they are 3-0 in Halton Arena. Redshirt junior guard Dazia Lawrence was named to the Preseason All-Conference Second Team. Lawrence is off to a great start this season for the 49ers as she leads the team in scoring at 16.6 points per game and rebounding at 6.0 rebounds per game. Tracey Hueston is the other 49er who is averaging double figures in scoring at 11.4 points per game. No other 49er averages more than six points per game.

Charlotte has won games this season with its defense where it ranks second in the AAC allowing just 55.7 points per game. Offensively Charlotte ranks 12th in the AAC in scoring at 63.6 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's basketball team dropped a 66-53 contest to Charleston Southern on Saturday afternoon in Charleston, South Carolina.

Charleston Southern outscored the Bears 20-5 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Bears. Charleston Southern shot 25-for-53 (47.2%) from the field to Mercer's 21-for-62 (33.9%) shooting on the afternoon.

Briana Peguero led Mercer in scoring with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Mackenzie Johnson was the other Bear to score in double figures as she had 10 points to go with seven rebounds.
