MACON – The Mercer volleyball will play its road finale at Chattanooga on November 9, and then return to Macon on November 11 to host Samford in its regular season finale, capping off Homecoming Weekend with the team's Senior Night.
Last week, the Bears won a couple of tight matches on the road against Furman and ETSU. In Friday's match in Greenville, S.C., the Bears won the first two sets, but narrowly lost the next two, forcing a set five that they won 15-13. Kylee Quigley recorded a career high in kills (22) and recorded three service aces. The next night at ETSU, the match was another back-and-forth scoring battle, but the Bears only needed four sets to seal the deal. Skyler Bumpers led the team with five blocks. Quigley was awarded SoCon Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. The Bears have swept three home-and-home league series already this season (ETSU, UNCG, and Furman), and have an opportunity to make it five this week.Â
Chattanooga is currently sixth in the Southern Conference with a 6-8 conference record (18-11 overall). Last week, the Mocs lost 0-3 at Western Carolina and won 3-0 at Furman. When the Mocs came to Macon, the Bears won in a 3-0 sweep.Â
Samford holds an 8-6 SoCon record (13-13 overall) and sits in fourth place in the conference. The Bulldogs are coming off of a pair of 3-2 wins at ETSU and Western Carolina. They will face Chattanooga on Friday before coming to Macon. When Mercer traveled to Birmingham, the Bears won in five sets. Gia Padilla set her career high in kills with 16. The November 11 match will close out Mercer's Homecoming festivities. Seniors Kylee Quigley and Sadie Vente will be honored during a pregame ceremony.
Live stats during the matches can be found on Mercer's stats page, and Thursday's match will be streamed on ESPN+.

The first round of the Southern Conference tournament will be hosted by the No. 8 seed on November 13 or 14. The remainder of the tournament will be hosted by Wofford at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium in Spartanburg, Nov. 17-19.
