Donor Drive Challenge Celebrates a Successful 10th Year

Mercer Athletic Foundation surpassed its goal by more than $20,000
Macon, Ga. – The Mercer Athletic Foundation is thrilled to announce the results of the 2023 Donor Drive Challenge! In its 10th year, The Donor Drive Challenged surpassed the goal of $110,000 thanks to the contributions numerous donors and primary sponsors Five Star Automotive, OrthoGeorgia, Roland, Abbott, & DeZoort Insurance, and Core Management Resources.Â
The Donor Drive Challenge elicited 138 gifts resulting in the total accumulation of $134,661 which eclipsed this year's goal by more than $20,000!Â
"It is amazing to think about all of the generous gifts over the years to this challenge. What started as a simple event to grow our donor numbers has turned into a major part of the Athletic Foundation," said MAF Executive Director Brian Gerrity. "I never dreamed we would cross the $1,000,000 mark with this challenge but it truly shows the passion and generosity of our alums and friends"Â
Since the inception of the challenge, over $1,000,000 has been raised to support a number of different initiatives including ESPN3 equipment, championship rings, the annual Toby Awards banquet and other supporting funds for facility upgrades, operational budgets and scholarships. Due to your generosity, we have eclipsed our goals EVERY YEAR of the challenge.
