Porter, Kersey Rewrite History To Be Named Mercer Student-Athletes Of The Week

MACON – This past weekend, two Mercerians etched their names in their respective program's record books with historic performances to earn Mercer Student-Athlete of the Week recognition for the week ending on March 23.
Iris Porter broke the school record in the 10,000m run by more than 24 seconds and finished as the runner-up at the Charlotte 49er Invitational. Porter surpassed 18 other competitors with a time of 36:07.27 in the grueling event.
Braydon Kersey became the first Bear to mash three or more home runs in a single game since Ty Dalley against Seton Hall on March 28, 2024 in Mercer baseball's 8-4 win over The Citadel this past Saturday. Kersey finished the day 4-for-5 with three RBI, three home runs and three runs scored.
