Women’s Lacrosse Draws Notre Dame In NCAA Tournament

Mercer and Notre Dame to play May 12 in Gainesville, Florida

MACON, Ga. – After winning the Big South Tournament championship earlier in the day, Mercer women's lacrosse learned its NCAA Tournament First Round opponent on Sunday night.

The Bears will play Notre Dame on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. ET in Gainesville, Florida. It will be the first all-time meeting between Mercer and Notre Dame in women's lacrosse.

Mercer enters the game with a 17-2 record having won the Big South regular season and Tournament Championship. The Bears have the second-highest scoring offense in the country at 17.24 goals per game.

Notre Dame, ranked No. 11 in the country, finished with a 13-5 overall record and went 6-3 in the ACC. The Irish fell to ACC Champion Boston College in the ACC Tournament Semifinals.
