
Women's Tennis Adds 5 Players to Roster

MACON, Ga. – Head coach Eric Hayes announced the addition of five players to the Mercer women's tennis roster for the 2023-24 season. Emilia Cosatto, Lea Falentin, Mariella Minetti, and Kennedi Jones join as transfers while Tea Zivic will start as a freshman.
Emilia Cosatto
Junior
Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico
Northeastern State University
Coasatto comes to the Bears as the No. 3 ranked singles player in Division II. She finished 13-7 in singles in 2023, all on court one, featuring five wins over ranked opponents. In doubles, Cosatto was ranked 22nd with partner Alisha Moldakhmetova, going 12-7 in the spring. Cosatto opened the season on a six-match winning streak in singles and won six-straight in doubles later in the season. The Tuxtla Gutierrex, Mexico, native helped Northeastern State to a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association runner-up finish this spring.

After earning All-PacWest Singles First Team and Doubles Third Team honors, Falentin joins the Bears for her fifth year. She was ranked as high as No. 41 in the Division II rankings this season after posting a 14-6 record in singles on court one and 10 doubles wins in the first slot. During her junior season, Falentin reached a national ranking of No. 18 and finished 14-4 in singles on court two and 12-7 in doubles, earning All-PacWest Third Team selections in singles and doubles. Falentin also garnered All-PacWest Second Team honors her sophomore season. As a freshman, Falentin went 10-0 in singles from the second slot and logged seven doubles wins, helping Fresno Pacific to a 10-0 record.
Mariella Minetti

Northwestern State University of Louisiana
Minetti, coming to Mercer for her fifth year, grabbed six singles wins and two doubles wins during the 2023 season. She earned All-Southland Conference Singles First Team honors in 2022 after going 15-3 overall and 6-0 in league play at the third singles slot. Minetti was selected for the All-SLC Doubles Second Team with partner Tjasa Klevisar for their 12-5 overall and 4-0 conference records on court one. As a true freshman in 2020, Minetti went 9-4 at the first singles slot and continued at the top of the rotation, playing all 17 matches on court one the next season. She was named Southland Conference Player of the Week in 2020. The Louisiana Sports Writers Association included Minetti on the 2020 Second Team and 2022 First Team.
Kennedi Jones

Macon, Ga.
Jacksonville State
Jones started 10 matches in singles and 12 matches in doubles as a freshman at Jacksonville State. She earned four singles wins on court six and two doubles victories on court one. Jones featured in just one match in 2023 against Wallace State Community College, going 2-0 with a straight-set singles win on court six and a doubles victory on court two. The Macon, Georgia, native returns home where she lettered for three seasons at First Presbyterian Day School and led the Vikings to the 2021 State Championship.
Tea Zivic
Freshman
Paris, France
Zivic comes to Mercer from Paris, France, where she holds a -2/6 ranking. She reached a UTR as high as 9.5 and is one of the top 50 junior players in France. Zivic played in numerous WTA 25 Challengers, including singles quarterfinal appearances in four different competitions and doubles semifinal appearances in two tournaments in 2021.
