Mercer Unveils Ford Football Concert Series Lineup for Wofford

Tailgating experience to feature live music performances this fall
MACON, Ga. – The 2023 Mercer Football Ford Concert Series October 21st  performance will be headlined by Nate Smith prior to the Bears' kicking of against Wofford.  "We are excited to welcome back the 5th year of the Ford Concert Series. We look forward to another year of top-charting artists and a memorable gameday experience.," remarked Associate AD Daniel Tate. "The Ford Concert Series is a staple for Middle Georgia that provides entertainment for the whole family."  Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy live music from Nate Smith before kickoff at 4pm. , the designated tailgating area on Black Field, located adjacent to Five Star Stadium.

Nate Smith (October 21st vs Wofford)Â
A California native, a former worship leader, and a lifelong music lover, Nate approaches this career with an electricalbackground. With his mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock 'n' roll swagger, and velvet thunder vocals, Nate is Sony Music Nashville's latest signing whose personal journey has inspired him to be a beacon of country music hope and be an inspiration for all around him. Learning guitar at just 13 years old this country star was inspired by some iconic artists, having Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley and Bob Seger as his inspiration for his vocals and Michael Jackson made him crave the spotlight, and Nirvana giving him his drive for a jagged edge. Â
After losing everything he owned in 2018 during a Camp Fire in Paradise, California, Nate turned to music to help him cope and hoped it would help him cope as well as those around him. This helped him and eventually led him to go on a long road trip to Music City and write music and perform at dive bars along the way, and soon after he reached Music City, he released his first song "Wildfire", and that led him to sign with Sony ATV. After that release, he had a few more very popular singles such as "Sleeve" and "Under my Skin" which still have over 40 million streams to date The singer rounds out the year with a record deal and two brand new songs: "Raised Up" and the viral TikTok hit "I Don't Wanna Go To Heaven." On his Spotify channel, Smith has 5,064,556 listeners and 183,480 followers all around the world and this country music prodigy is bringing his style to you. Â
