Mercer Leads SoCon With 329 Honor Roll Student-Athletes

Honor Roll earned by having minimum 3.0 GPA for 2022-23 academic year
MACON, Ga. - The Mercer Bears led the Southern Conference with 329 of the league's 2,469 Honor Roll selections, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Conference officials honored a total of 2,469Â student-athletes with a spot on the honor roll for the 2022-23 academic year. In order to be eligible for the Southern Conference Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average for the year. 704 student-athletes received Commissioner's Medals for having at least a 3.80 GPA, and 223 student-athletes ended the 2022-23 academic year with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Mercer had 78 student-athletes earn Commissioner's Medals for having at least a 3.80 GPA for the academic year. There were 29 Mercer student-athletes who finished the academic year with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Women's lacrosse and men's cross country each led the way with five student-athletes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
In addition to leading the conference's 27 members (10 full-time and 17 associate), which has happened each year since joining the SoCon, Mercer placed more than 300 student-athletes on the honor roll in six of the last seven years.
Mercer paced the league with 329 members on the honor roll, while Wofford was second with 285 and ETSU was third with 266. Each of the SoCon's 10 full members had at least 177 student-athletes on the list and seven of them surpassed 200.
