Autograph Sessions, Giveaways To Highlight Event
MACON – Autographs, giveaways and the opportunity to meet student-athletes and coaches will highlight the Mercer athletics department' annual Fan Appreciation Day that will take place on August 12. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center's Heritage Hall and admission is free.
Â
Student-athletes and coaches from four fall sports teams – football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball – will be available for autographs. Team schedule posters, as well as selected giveaways, will highlight the 2-hour event, while Toby the Bear will also be available for photo opportunities with fans as well.
Â
The women's soccer team will officially lift the lid on the 2023-24 athletics season for the Bears on August 9 when it travels to Alabama to take on Auburn, while the men's soccer squad will open their season two days later (August 11) against Gardner-Webb at Betts Stadium. The volleyball team is slated to open its 2023 campaign on August 19 against Georgia State in Atlanta.
Â
Donning a preseason ranking for the second-straight season, the football team will trek to Montgomery, Ala., on August 26 to battle North Alabama in the FCS Kickoff Classic. That contest is slated to be nationally televised by ESPN.
Â
Season tickets for the 2023 football season are already on sale and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. For further information on the upcoming 2023 fall sports seasons, visit the official online home of Mercer Athletics at MercerBears.com.
