MACON – Mercer Volleyball opened up conference play tonight hosting the Wofford Terriers. The Bears never let a set get out of reach but could not rally enough to get a win.Â
With nine lead changes and 16 ties throughout the match, Hawkins Arena was full of energy from both sides of the court. A variety of Mercer players stepped up to make set-saving and momentum-building plays, including key kills by Kylee Quigley, Gia Padilla, and Skyler Bumpers who were often set up well by one of Kiera McCarles's match-leading 18 assists.
The Bears host UNCGÂ on September 23 at 6 p.m. at Hawkins Arena in Macon.
