
Volleyball Heads To Auburn For Tiger Invitational

MACON – The Mercer volleyball team will play their last matches on the road before the first home match of the season this weekend when they travel to Auburn, Ala. for the Tiger Invitational at Neville Arena.Â

The Orange & Black (2-4) will open their tournament play on Friday at 10 a.m. when they face Charleston Southern (5-3). The Bears will return to the court to play Middle Tennessee State (1-3) at 3:30 p.m.Â

Mercer will close out the weekend's play on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they face the host team No. 25 Auburn (5-0). The match will be streamed on SEC Network +.

The Bears finished 1-2 in Tampa last weekend at the Bulls Volleyball Invitational, hosted by South Florida. Mercer fell to Florida Gulf Coast Friday morning 0-3 then bounced back to dominate Idaho State 3-0 in the afternoon. The Bears fell to the host team USF on Saturday 0-3. Kylee Quigley was named to the All-Tournament team, recording seven aces in the first match against FGCU, the most by any Mercer player in one match in over a decade. Skyler Bumpers currently boasts a SoCon-leading .473 hitting percentage, which also ranks No. 17 in the country.

Mercer will open up the home portion of its 2023 regular season schedule on September 14 against Georgia Southern. First service for that matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena.
