Cross Country To Compete At The Live In Lou Classic

MACON - The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 5 in Louisville, Ky. The meet is hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission and will take place at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
Both squads are coming off of first place finishes at the Julius Johnson Invitational that took place on Sept. 21 in Macon, Ga. The men's team placed six in the top ten finishers and the women's team saw the top eight runners cross the finish line. Nearly every runner on both teams earned new personal records, including Reagan Cooke who placed first for the women's team with a time of 17:49.11, her first collegiate win. For the men's team, Yianni Pothalakis also posted a personal best of 24:11.13 to place second.
Cooke and Pothalakis earned SoCon Runners of the Week honors for their standout performances at the Julius Johnson Invitational.
The men's 8K race is set to start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5K to follow shortly after at 10:15 a.m.
