
Men, Women Post Strong Finishes In Louisville

LOUISVILLE – The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Live in Lou Classic at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park this morning in Louisville, Ky. Both squads saw runners place in the top 100 in a race packed with some of the best runners in the country.Â

Freshman Reagan Cooke is coming off of her first collegiate win at the Julius Johnson Invitational on Sept. 21 and was the top finisher for the Bears in this morning's race coming in 89th out of 263 runners with a time of 18:21.0. Iris Porter finished in 112th place with a time of 18:36.03 and Annette Rodriguez was on her toes finishing in 117th place with a time of 18:39.0.Â

On the men's side, Buck Ledford crossed the finish line first for the Bears at the 25:01.06 mark, earning himself 71st place. Yianni Pothalakis followed shortly behind finishing with a time of 25:07.08 for 79th place and Reece Cato was the third finisher for Mercer coming in 127th place with a time of 25:36.09.Â

The Bears will travel to College Station, Texas for their final race of the regular season for the Arturo Barrios Invitational at the Watts Cross Country Course on Friday, Oct. 18.
