
Bears Close Out Regular Season In Texas

COLLEGE STATION – The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Arturo Barrios Invitational this morning at the Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas. The women's team finished 33rd out of 41 teams with the men's squad finishing in 30th out of 38, both teams went up against some of the top programs in the country.

The women's team ran their first 6K of the season with Emma James as the top finisher for the Bears posting a time of 21:38.1. Reagan Cooke and Olivia Jones were not far behind, finishing with times of 21:53.4 and 21:55.8, respectively. Nikki Harris came in fourth for the Bears with a time of 22:11.8.

Yianni Pothoulakis was the first Bear to cross the finish line for the men's team at the 24:14.6 mark. Jacob Peters came in a close second to Pothoulakis with a personal best time of 24:40.9. Chinmay Dongari, Nick Frye and Peyton Millwood all recorded personal bests with times of 25:18.1, 25:29.7 and 25:42.1, respectively.

The Bears will compete at the Southern Conference championships on Nov. 2 at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
