MACON – First-year Mercer head coach Michelle Clark-Heard celebrated a trio of additions to her 2025-26 roster on Saturday morning after Texas native Anaiah White, as well as international standouts Remi-Hope Drantmann and Coumba Keita, announced intentions to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Bears.
"My staff and I are extremely pleased with the tremendously-talented additions that we have made to the Bears family," Heard said. "We have added great size, explosiveness and basketball IQ in some key areas that expand our ability to be relentless on both ends of the floor."
Drantmann, a 6-4 forward, transitions to the collegiate game following an outstanding playing career in Brussels, Belgium. The Nigerian-born student-athlete has settled into her competitive home with Belgium's Kangoeroes Mechelen in both the U19 and Second Division, while also logging playing time in the First Division as well. She nearly averaged a double-double last season while leading Kangoeroes Mechelen to both the National Cup and Vice-Championship, and was nominated to play on the German National U18 FIBA European Championship squad as well.
The daughter of Anette Jahn and Christian Drantmann has a younger sister, Noée, and is a standout student at the Ace Cambridge International School of Brussels. She is anticipating majoring in biology at Mercer.
"Remi is a high-motor, ultra-athletic forward that is a relentless rebounder," Heard said. "She is an elite-level shot-blocking presence that can defend multiple positions with her incredible athleticism. Her experience at every international level is so valuable because she has competed against the best."
Keïta, a 6-1 guard, will head to Middle Georgia after turning in an impressive career on the international circuit. Born in Saint Denis, France, but currently calling Nepean, Ontario, Canada home, she will tote a plethora of international experience with her to Macon. Keita helped pace her Original Greatness Prep squad to France's region final four to highlight the 2021-22 campaign, and also made an immediate impact as a part of the championships conference in Canada, taking home rookie of the year accolades while also receiving an invite to the all-star team.
The daughter of Tema and Nantenin Mady Keïta has one brother, Amara, and five sisters – Nantenin, Siga, Oumou, Fanta and Nasyra. She maintained a 3.9 cumulative grade point average at Ontario Virtual School, and is expecting to major in physical therapy at Mercer.
"Coumba is a long, athletic and versatile scoring wing that can do it all," Heard said. "Her ability to score at all three levels is incredibly valuable, but she also creates issues for opponents with her defensive intensity and length by causing a lot deflections and steals."
White, a 5-8 guard, will make the move to Middle Georgia following a standout prep career at Cypress Ranch High School in Houston, Texas, for coach Megan Daniels. She has also made a name for herself as a member of AAU's Louisiana Aces under the direction of coach Jarvon Anderson.
One of just six student-athletes to play in all 35 games for the Mustangs last season, White paced Cypress High School to 19 victories and an appearance in the state playoffs. She earned a spot on the all-district squad at season's end, and also earned team most valuable player honors as well. White possesses a basketball pedigree as the daughter of current Houston assistant coach Quannas White who, as a player, helped lead Oklahoma to the 2002 NCAA Final Four.
A member of the academic excellence honor roll, White currently maintains a 5.833 cumulative grade point average at Cypress High School.
"Anaiah is a floor general that has a tremendous basketball IQ and pedigree," Heard said. "Her strength, toughness and discipline will make us better immediately in the backcourt. I have had the privilege of knowing Anaiah and her family for a long time and she has developed into an incredible leader and point guard."
