Saints Come Marching To Macon On Saturday

MACON – Mercer (10-7, 0-0 SoCon) will host the Siena Saints (0-13, 0-0 MAAC) this weekend, starting with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The series will conclude with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Bears will open up conference play following this weekend's games when they travel to North Carolina next weekend to face UNC Greensboro.Â

| Mercer went through seven scoreless innings on Tuesday against Georgia Tech before Conner Todaro hit a two-run homer to make the score 8-2. The Yellow Jackets scored one more run in the top of the 9th. The Bears added three before the game concluded, bringing the final score to 9-5. Reid Fagerstrom pitched the first 3.1 innings for the Bears, giving up two runs and striking out two batters. |

| Siena comes to Macon 13 games into a 21-game road streak to start the 2024 season. The Loudonville, New York college will play its first home game on March 28. Freshman Tyler Figueroa was the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the week last week after hitting an even .600 with a .692 on-base percentage and a whopping 1.292 OPS across the Saints' three-game series at UNC Asheville. This was his second consecutive week selected as Rookie of the Week. Graduate student Austin Rachiele leads the team at the plate batting .348 and has a .652 slugging percentage. All of Siena's coaches are in their first season with the team. |
