MACON – The Mercer baseball team (9-4, 0-0) arrived in Stillwater on Thursday to face Oklahoma State (8-5, 0-0) this weekend in a three-game series. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, Saturday's game will be at 3 p.m. EST, and Sunday's first pitch will be at 1 p.m. EST. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

This will be the first meeting between Mercer and Oklahoma State, but the Bears are 18-25 all-time against current members of the Big 12, including a 3-1 mark against Big 12 teams last season. MU dropped an 11-3 midweek affair at Texas on March 8, but rebounded with a 3-game series sweep at Baylor the following weekend.

GAMEDAY INFO

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BEARS

Mercer got out to a 4-1 lead in the fifth inning against Georgia State on Wednesday, but the Panthers outscored the Bears 5-0 the rest of the way to take the win in Atlanta. Brandon Prince, Parker Lester, Jackson Cherry, and Noah Best all registered an RBI. Freshman Cody Soliday started on the mound and pitched 4.0 innings, striking out three and giving up one run.

SCOUTING REPORT

Oklahoma State was selected to finish third in the Big 12 Conference in the 2024 preseason polls. TCU (13-0), the No. 5 ranked team in the NCAA, was selected to win the league, and No. 24 Texas (7-5) was picked just before OSU. Outfielder Nolan Schubart and utility player Carson Benge earned Preseason All-Big 12 honors. Benge currently leads the team in RBI with 16 and is second in batting average, hitting .365. The Cowboys split a series earlier this week with Utah Tech in Stillwater, losing 9-8 and winning 12-2 (seven innings). The team has proven they can put runs on the board, scoring 19 in two separate games - a shut out of Central Michigan and a 19-2 victory over Sam Houston.

Mercer will be back at OrthoGeorgia Park on Tuesday, March 12 to host Georgia Tech at 6 p.m.
