Mercer Tied For 7th After First Round At SoCon Championship

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - After the opening round at the 2024 SoCon Championship, the Mercer women's golf team sits in a tie for 7th place in the 10-team field with Chattanooga.
The Bears shot 25-over par, 313 in Sunday's first round from Moss Creek Golf Club. ETSU leads the field as they finished the day 5-over, 293.
Katie Scheck had the low round of the day for Mercer as she carded a 4-over, 76 good for a tie for 11th place after the first 18 holes. Scheck's 14 pars in her round were tied for second most in the 45-player field. Eujin Pyon is just one shot back of her at 5-over par.
The Bears will begin the second round Monday as Tracy Rodriguez will be the first Mercer golfer off the tee at 8:30 a.m.
