GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior Teodora Ristic was named First Team All-SoCon with the release of the Southern Conference postseason awards Wednesday afternoon.
This marks Ristic's second consecutive season being named First Team All-SoCon in singles.
Ristic has made an instant impact in her two seasons at Mercer after transferring to Macon before the 2022-23 season. She spent her first three collegiate seasons at Gardner-Webb.Â
This spring season, Ristic leads the Bears with a 14-5 overall record in singles matches from the number one position. She is tied for the third best singles winning percentage in the SoCon at .737. Ristic went 4-3 in conference singles matches.
In doubles, Ristic went 13-5 as she and Marina de Diego Quinones were 10-4 paired together and Ristic and Kristin Yordanova went 3-1.
Ristic helped the Bears finish 13-7 overall and 4-3 in conference matches. Mercer finished tied for third in the Socon but due to tiebreakers earned the fifth seed in the SoCon Tournament. The Bears will open their portion of play in the SoCon Tournament on Thursday when they tangle with fourth-seeded Wofford (14-6, 4-3) at The Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tennesse. That quarterfinal matchup is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m.
