LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BEARSÂ |
Mercer hosted The Citadel for the final regular season series last weekend. The Bears won Thursday's game 3-2, starting with a two-run homer by Parker Lester in the bottom of the first inning. A solo homer from Max Kops in the seventh finished scoring for the bears in the game. Friday's game was moved to Saturday due to weather, and the Bears lost both games that day. Mercer got out to a 3-0 lead but gave up four runs in the sixth inning to fall behind. Both teams scored two runs in the eighth inning, but The Citadel held on to win 6-5. In the final game of the day and the regular season, Mercer got out to a 3-0 lead again but did not score the rest of the game. The Citadel tied the game at three in the fourth inning and added five more across the last two innings to win 8-3. |
