Men's And Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Teams

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's and women's tennis teams received team and individual honors on Monday as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2024 Division I Men's and Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams.
Both teams were named 2024 ITA All-Academic Teams. The men's team had six student-athletes named ITA Scholar Athletes and the women's team had four student-athletes named ITA Scholar Athletes.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must have a collective grade point average of 3.2 or above for the entire 2023-24 academic year. The men's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.60 and the women's team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.44.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the 2023-24 academic year. The six student-athletes on the men's team named ITA Scholar athletes were: Andrew Branicki, Howell Burns, Lucas Dini, Samuel Barrow, Samuel MacLeod, and Victor Putter. On the women's side, Emilia Cosatto, Kristin Yordanova, Lea Falentin, and Mariella Minetti were all named ITA Scholar Athletes.
In head coach Eric Hayes' 10th season at Mercer, the women's team went 14-8 overall and 4-3 in conference matches. The 14 victories on the season marked the most wins by the program in over 15 years. The men's team went 4-3 in conference matches, marking the second consecutive season they finished the season with a winning record in SoCon play.
