GREENVILLE, S.C. – Preseason recognition was in the spotlight for the Mercer women's basketball team on Wednesday when senior forward Ariana Bennett was among 10 players named to the 2025-26 Preseason All-Southern Conference squad, the league office announced.
Â
Bennett, a native of Edwardsville, Ill., started in all 30 games for the Bears last season and turned in a team-best 10.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 33.0 minutes an outing, while also adding 25 steals and 14 blocks. She shot 43.5 percent (111-for-255) from the field and 80.0 percent (92-for-115) from the free throw line and tallied a double-digit point total 16 times including a season-best 21 points in home games with Appalachian State and Furman
Â
Bennett also registered a lone double-double with 18 points and a season-high 13 boards against Charleston Southern in late November.
Â
The Bears, who return three starters off last season's club, will officially open their 2025-26 regular season schedule on November 3 when they trek to western North Carolina to take on UNC Asheville. The Orange & Black will lift the lid on the home portion of its slate on November 6 when it locks horns with Clemson in Hawkins Arena.
Â
Season tickets for the 13-date home schedule have already gone on sale and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. Ticket packages are $60 for cushioned seats and $45 for non-cushioned seats. Prices for season ticket packages will increase as the season draws closer.
