Women's Tennis Concludes Play At ITA Regional Championships

MACON, Ga. - Marina de Diego Quinones and Sofiya Tsitavets concluded play at the ITA Regional Championships in Orlando, Florida over the weekend.
Tsitavets and de Diego Quinones went a combined 2-3 in their singles matches. The pair played two close matches in doubles play, winning the first 8-7 (6) and losing their second 8-6.
In singles play, Tsitavets dropped her first match on Thursday to Jasmin Makela of North Florida, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. In her second match on Friday, she won in a walkover over FIU's Diana Khaydarshina. Her last match was against Izabelle Person of Kennesaw State who defeated Tsitavets, 6-2, 7-5.
As for Marina de Diego Quinones, she won her first match on Friday over Sabrina Jaramillo of Florida Gulf Coast 6-1, 6-4. On Saturday, she fell to Georgia's Aysegul Mert 6-1, 6-3.
The first doubles match for de Diego Quinones and Tsitavets was against Charlotte Ruud and Josefine Falster of South Florida. In a very competitive match, de Diego Quinones and Tsitavets came away with an 8-7 (7-5) win. In their next doubles match, Lauren Seye and Olivia Bergler of UCF defeated de Diego Quinones and Tsitavets in a close match, 8-6.
Next up for the Bears is the Wofford Invite Nov. 7 -9.
