
Cross Country To Compete At Southern Conference Championships

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Mill Spring, N.C. to compete in the 2025 Southern Conference Championships on Nov. 1 at the Tryon Equestrian Center.
The women's team continues to remain in the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings after their performance at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas. Mary Grace Parker for the women's team and Buck Ledford for the men's team both posted personal bests with both teams finishing in 22nd place out of 32 (men) and 37 (women) teams. Parker finished with a time of 20:51.8 in the women's 6k and Ledford posted a time of 24:32.8 in the men's 8k.
At the 2024 Southern Conference Championships the men's and women's teams placed fifth and sixth place, respectively. Emma James posted a personal best and was the first Bear to cross the finish line in 19th place for Mercer with a time of 17:51.3. On the men's side, Jacob Peters posted a personal best time in the 8k at the 25:20.6 mark as the first Bear to finish and 13th place overall.
Mercer looks to put an end to Furman's 12-year Southern Conference Championship run this weekend. The men will kick off the day at 10 a.m. for the 8K race and the women's 5K will follow shortly after at 10:45 a.m.
