
Bears Welcome The Paladins To Hawkins Arena

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team welcomes Fuman to Hawkins Arena on Saturday, Nov. 1 for a 6 p.m. Southern Conference match up.
Mercer is coming off of a 3-0 road win against The Citadel on Thursday, October. 30 in McAlister Field House. The Bears combined for a total of 12 blocks compared to The Citadel's two. Sophomore middle blocker Joselynn Sanjurjo tied her career-high with six blocks on the night and sophomore libero Aubri Martin recorded 19 digs from the back row. Freshman right-side hitter Lara Matta led Mercer's offense and the match with 12 kills (.524) while freshman outside hitter Charlotte Thompson followed closely behind with eight kills of her own. Sammi Bergjans recorded a match-high 24 assists in the victory.
The Paladins currently sit at second place in the SoCon standings with an overall record of 17-6 and a conference record of 8-3. These two squads faced earlier in the season in Greenville, S.C. with the Paladins coming out on top 3-1 inside Alley Gymnsium. The Paladins have also recorded wins over The Citadel, UNC Greensboro, Samford and Western Carolina.
First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
