
Cross Country To Race At The NCAA Regional

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams will race in Huntsville, Ala. at the NCAA DI South Regional on Friday morning. The women's 6k is set to kick off at 8:30 a.m. followed up by the men's 10k at 9:30 a.m.
The women's team continues to hold a spot in the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings after making history at the 2025 Southern Conference Championship. The Bears placed second overall for the first time in program history with freshman Mary Grace Parker placing third overall for the best individual finish in school history with a time of 17:14.2, a personal best. Nikki Harris finished second for the Orange & Black and 10th overall with a time of 17:53.6 and Emma James and Chiara Belfico finished just three seconds apart for 16th and 17th place overall with times of 18:18.7 and 18:21.7.
On the men's side, Jake Peters finished first for the Bears in the 8k with a time of 25:41.6 and 15th overall. Yianni Pothoulakis came in 20th place with a time of 25:52.3 and Buck Ledford was the 28th overall finisher with a time of 26:10.3.
The NCAA South Regional will take place at John Hunt Park which the Bears are familiar with after running that course at the Southern Showcase on Sept. 12 where nine Bears posted personal bests. Both squads will be competing against 35 other teams including fellow SoCon members, Chattanooga, ETSU and Samford while going up against powerhouses like Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.
The race will be streamed on ESPN+ and have live stats available to follow along with.
