
Bears Take Down Catamounts In Regular Season Finale

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mercer offense was unstoppable Saturday night with three Bears recording double-digit kills, putting up 68 total kills (.322) to shut down Western Carolina in the regular season finale.
Leading Mercer's explosive offense was Sophia Henry with 21 kills (.362) and Charlotte Thompson followed closely behind with 16 kills and hit an impressive .500 on the night. Lara Matta put up 11 kills of her own to add to the offense. Sophomore setter Sammi Bergjans had a standout night with a career-high 32 assists and added 16 digs and two aces. Sophomore libero posted a double-double with 21 digs and 11 assists while Joselynn Sanjurjo tallied three blocks.
The Bears will compete at the Southern Conference Tournament in Asheville, N.C. at the Harrah's Cherokee Center from Friday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 23.Â
