
Mercer To Face Furman In Quarterfinal Round Of SoCon Tournament

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team is set to compete at the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament in Asheville, N.C. beginning Friday, Nov. 21 at 4:30 p.m. as the Bears will take on the Paladins of Furman University.Â
Mercer concluded the regular season with an overall record of 10-19 and an in-conference record of 6-10. The Bears finished with a winning record of 7-5 in Hawkins Arena on the season. The Bears ended the regular season with a combined 1,278 kills, 1,163 assists, 1,483 digs and 213 total blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Henry led the Bears with 324 kills and the Co-Rayna Taylor Freshman of the Year Charlotte Thompson finished second on the team with 244 kills. Sophomore setter Sammi Bergjans led Mercer with 515 assists and leads the conference with 42 aces. Sophomore libero Aubri Martin finished second in the SoCon with 485 digs and sophomore middle blocker Joselynn Sanjurjo led the team with 81 total blocks on the season.
Furman and Mercer split the regular season with the Bears beating the Paladins in Hawkins Arena 3-1 on Saturday, Nov. 1 and fell to Furman 3-1 in Greenville, S.C. on Thursday, October. 2.
First serve for the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament for the Bears is set for 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 in Asheville and will be streamed on ESPN+.
