Mercer finished sixth in the 17 team field
MAUI, HAWAII - Mikayla Dubnik finished tied for ninth to help the Mercer women's golf team to a sixth place finish at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational from Royal Kā'anapali Golf Course in Maui, Hawaii.
As a team, the Bears finished the tournament 8-over par, 872 in the 17-team field. Washington won the tournament with a team score of 19-under, 845.
Dubnik's top 10 finish is her first of the spring season, but she has placed in the top 20 in all four tournaments this spring. Dubnik finished the tournament at 3-under, 213, eight shots back of the co-champions in Gonzaga's Grace Lee and Washington's Vivian Lu who finished the tournament at 11-under, 205.
Emilia Väistö also had a good tournament for the Bearrs as she finished tied for 13th in the 98-player field at 2-under, 214. Dubnik and Väistö were two of the best players on the par 3's throughout the tournament as they each went 2-under par on them which was tied for the second best score on par 3's in the field.
Mercer will conclude the regular season on April 7-8 as the Bears host the Brickyard Collegiate from the Brickyard Golf Club in Forsyth.
