> Mercer enters Tuesday's game after securing a SoCon series win over Western Carolina over the weekend. The Bears took the rubber match in emphatic fashion, using a 10-run outburst in the third inning en route to a 13-3 rule-rule victory

> Junior Ty Dalley hit his 50th career home run on Saturday, capping a four homer week. Dalley now leads the Bears and ranks third in the SoCon with 11 long balls this season and needs just six more home runs to tie Mercer's career record, held by Tim Smith (1980-83)

Jess Ackerman has been among the top whiff artists in the league, ranking second in the league with 45 punch-outs while leading conference in K/9 at 12.9
Scouting Georgia TechTuesday marks the 87th all-time meeting between the Bears and Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech brings a 22-6 record into the week, including an 8-4 mark in ACC play, and are coming off of a series loss against third-ranked Clemson over the weekend.
Georgia Tech has been one of the top offensive teams in the country this season, holding a .335 team batting average to go with a 1.017 OPS. Kent Schmidt leads the team in hitting at .415, while Kyle Lodise leads the way with 12 home runs. The Yellow Jackets have also been excellent on the mound with a 4.08 ERA as a team. Mason Patel has been dominant out of the bullpen, picking up seven wins with a 1.60 ERA in 33 - 2/3 innings of work.
