Women's Golf Wraps Up First Day At Gators Invitational

Bears are in 11th place in the 14-team field
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After two rounds at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, the Mercer women's golf team sits in 11th place in the 14-team field.
The course proved to be tough on the first day as the leader in the clubhouse is Ole Miss who finished the day at 3-over, 563. Through the first 36 holes, the Bears are at 31-over, 591.
Mercer played much better as a team in its second round after a first round of 23-over, 303. In the second round, the Bears improved by 15 strokes and carded an 8-over, 288. It was the fourth best second round score in the field.
Mikayla Dubnik had the lowest round of the day for Mercer with a second round of even par, 70. She is in a tie for 22nd place at 4-over, 144. Katie Scheck is right behind her in a tie for 24th place at 5-over, 145.
The final round begins Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. via a shotgun start.
