Women's Tennis Earns ITA Team And Individual Academic Awards

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's tennis team earned 2024-25 Division I ITA Academic Team accolades, while seven Mercer individual student-athletes also captured ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Monday.

The seven student-athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes were all three freshmen Marie Bannmeyer, Ines Hömberg, and Jelena Gojkovic, sophomores Tea Zivic and Lea Von Kozierowski, junior Marina de Diego Quinones, and senior Emilia Cosatto.

In 2025, 1,462 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
