
Volleyball Hosts Kennesaw State In Home Opener

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team will play its first home match of the 2025 season against Kennesaw State on Tuesday, Sept. 2. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.
The Bears are coming off of a tough opening weekend, having gone 0-3 at the College of Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C. Mercer fell to Eastern Kentucky and Appalachian State 0-3 on Friday. The following day the Orange & Black took a set from the host team, College of Charleston but the Cougars were too much for the Bears, defeating them 3-1. Mercer's Aubri Martin was named to the CofC Classic All-Tournament Team after the sophomore libero put up 50 digs on the weekend. Freshman outside hitter Charlotte Thompson also had a standout weekend, posting 25 kills on the weekend, including a match-high 12 kills against the Cougars.
Kennesaw State started its 2025 season this past weekend in Wichita, Kansas. for the Shocker Volleyball Classic. The Owls opened up play with a 3-0 win against Wichita State and returned the next day to face Arkansas taking a set from the Razorbacks but ultimately fell 1-3, sitting at 1-1 on the season.
