MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team went undefeated at the Mercer Invitational after defeating UT Martin 3-1 in Hawkins Arena on Saturday afternoon. Mercer's offense was nearly unstoppable, out-hitting the Skyhawks 59 kills to 40, including three Bears posting double-digit kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Henry posted a season-high 17 kills to lead Mercer's offense in it's victory of UT Martin, earning her a spot on the Mercer Invitational All-Tournament Team. Freshman outside hitter Charlotte Thompson and middle blocker Avery Wilks also recorded season-high kills with 12 and 11, respectively. Sophomore setter Sammi Bergjans posted a double-double with 23 assists and 10 digs while also adding two service aces. Sophomore libero Aubri Martin was also named to the Mercer Invitational All-Tournament Team after putting up nine digs, nine assists and two service aces on the afternoon.

The Bears will open up conference play on Thursday, Sept. 25 against ETSU at 6 p.m. and Chattanooga on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-23	The entire first set was a back and forth duel between the two squads, neither team taking more than a two point lead throughout the entire set. The Bears were able to handle the pressure and pick up the set-one win after back-to-back kills from Sophia Henry and Charlotte Thompson.
SET 2 I 19-25	Mercer fell behind early in the set 1-4 and was never fully able to catch back up to UT Martin to take the momentum back. Mercer fought back to put the score at 15-19 after a kill from Olivia Elliott but the Skyhawks were able to capitalize off of a few Mercer errors.
SET 3 I 25-13	The Bears talked things out in between set two and three and came out absolutely dominating in set three. Mercer recorded three straight kills in a row to take an early 7-2 lead. Aubri Martin then went on a five-point service run later in the set to pull set three out of reach from UT Martin.
SET 4 \| 25-18	Mercer carried the momentum into set four recording 10-straight points taking a 15-5 lead. Despite five straight points from the Skyhawks, Mercer gathered themselves to finish out set four, taking the match-win and finishing 3-0 on the weekend.
