MACON – The Mercer women's basketball team will wrap up a two-game Southern Conference road trip on Saturday afternoon when the Bears travel to central North Carolina to take on UNC Greensboro in Bodford Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Fans unable to make the trip to North Carolina can still follow the action for free via a live statistics link provided by the UNCG athletics department. The game is also scheduled to be broadcasted live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Visiting Mercer scored 31 points off of 23 Western Carolina turnovers, went 30-for-38 from the free throw line and used a 19-6 run in the third quarter to fuel an 84-75 win over the Catamounts on Thursday evening in the Southern Conference opener for both sides. Five players finished with double-figure scoring nights for the Bears who improved to 2-0 in SoCon openers under head coach Michelle Clark-Heard, while also notching their sixth-straight victory this season as well.

ABOUT THE BEARS
Mercer (11-5, 1-0 SoCon) boasts a six-game win streak after Thursday's triumph at Western Carolina, and has now captured three-straight games away from Macon as well. The Orange & Black has registered a conference-best 14.25 free throws made per game, including 30 in the win over the Catamounts on Thursday, and will ride the SoCon's best 3-point shooting squad (.333) into Greensboro as well. Seniors Ariana Bennett (12.3 ppg) and Nahawa Diarra (12.1) have combined for nearly 25 points an outing this season, while junior Abigail Holtman has averaged 17.3 points per game over her last four starts on the strength of 43.5 percent (20-for-46) field goal shooting.

SCOUTING UNC GREENSBORO
The Spartans (11-5, 1-0 SoCon), likewise, will ride a six-game win streak into Saturday's contest with Mercer after posting a 73-64 victory at Samford on Thursday. UNC Greensboro boasts the nation's 10^th-ranked scoring defense (52.9 points allowed/game), while also pacing the SoCon in turnover margin (+5.06) and assist/turnover ratio (+1.03). Senior Jeni Levine turns in a league-best 16.1 points per game on 41.0 percent field goal shooting, while also turning in 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. Junior Makiah Asidanya (11.7 ppg) has recorded 10 or more points in seven of her last nine starts, and registered a 20-point night against Auburn earlier this season.

MERCER/UNC GREENSBORO SERIES
The Spartans lead the all-time series, 18-8, and have won the last three matchups with Mercer, including a pair of 30+-point triumphs last season. The Bears are 10-3 all-time in Bodford Arena, but have come away empty on their last two trips to Greensboro, N.C.
