MACON – The Mercer Bears are set to compete in their fifth and final event of the fall season at the Wofford Invite at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, this upcoming weekend.
The three-day competition will run from Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1. There are over 50 individual competitors who represent seven different programs. Friday's schedule includes two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. On Saturday, there will be one round of each. Sunday's slate consists of just one round of singles.
The Bears have remained idle since the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, when Tea Zivic and Sofi Tsitavets made a run to the Round of 16 after upsetting the No. 7-seeded doubles team in Miami, Florida. Zivic also etched her name in Mercer history after becoming the first woman to earn a spot in the main singles draw through qualifying.
